CAPTAIN MORGAN SPICED RUM

A little bit of info about the Captain: In 1654 a young Henry Morgan left his native Wales for the West Indies. He never looked back. A born leader, he quickly made Captain and became famous as a legal pirate or Buccaneer, defending British interests and generally rocking the Caribbean.

His awesome exploits on the high seas earned him a knighthood and by 1680 Sir Henry Morgan was a plantation owner and Governor of Jamaica. There he lived out his final days until his death in 1688.

Centuries later he became the figurehead for a company that became as famous as the man himself… The Captain Morgan Rum Company.

Spiced Rum? Sugar cane was used to make alcoholic drinks in Egyptian times but it was not until the 16th century that farmers and workers on Caribbean sugar cane plantations took up this ancient tradition. They took molasses, the dark, sticky by-product of the sugar making process and distilled it into a harsh, strong spirit. Rum in the raw. As plantations spread, so did the tradition of making rum.

Plantations from Jamaica to Latin America each had their own different rum but one thing united them all. They were strong. Very strong. So to soften the blow, distillers would add their own unique recipes of herbs, spices and fruits.

The Taste
Compared to the local brand of Rums, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum have this sweet-not-too-strong-smell taste of a rum. You know what I mean…

Frizberry Yogurt is deliciously yummy, you can order just plain yogurt or the strawberry yogurt also you can add 3 healthy and yummy toppings like kiwi, marshmallow, crunch oreo, blueberry and more.

BRASO Pizza & Pasta located at Juan Luna Ave. Mabalo. The Gallery is in front of San Carlos Seminary and IPI.

BRASCO is a family owned restaurant that was created to give customer a high quality homemade pizza and pasta.

According to Bryan, it was entitled brasco as “BRyan’s ASpiration Co.” They are very particular with regards to the toppings, sauces and the presentation itself. “We want to give customer the right satisfaction and a homey side of pizza.” said Ms.Ingrid who is also in charge in training their service crews.

For Pizza they have 13 different flavors but most of their ingredients are bacon,squid, shrimps, ham, bell pepper, mushroom, bacons , crabs and onions. take note that most of the pizza restaurants here only sprinkled the onions, in BRASCO they included it in the cooking.

For Pasta they have Shrimpy Tomato, Meaty Spaghetti with Pepperoni, Pasta with tomatoes and Aligue and Pasta with Bangus.

“Tastier than Lechon” – You heard that right! For the past few years I never tasted such uber delicious Liempo, thats Balamban Liempo for you. While I was making this blog post, I couldn’t help myself spacing out looking on the photos of the tasty liempo meat.

I couldn’t describe the taste but only one thing hit my mind, “taste like lechon”. The meat is pack with all the right spices. Good for 4-5 persons for only Php160.00 per serving, they also have Lechon Manok for Php145.00
